Available are the first eight pages of an August 25, 1921 edition of a San Francisco Chronicle newspaper thate features a large bold headline announcing the ZR-2 Dirigible explosion that killed 44 people. On 24 August 1921, R.38 (designated ZR-2 by the USN) was destroyed by a structural failure while in flight over the city of Hull. It crashed into the Humber Estuary, killing 44 out of the 49 crew aboard.Condition These newspaper pages are in good condition. However, the pages should be treated as delicate and handled with care upon receipt. These newspaper pages originally came from a bound library volume and exhibit typical chipping and paper loss on the edges. Additional edge chipping could occur during shipment. Domestic Shipping The pages will be placed in a clear plastic sleeve and gently rolled and inserted into a sturdy cardboard tube. Single newspaper pages can be shipped via First Class Mail.
